Download draw.io Desktop App for Windows and Work Offline

Please don't flag this package out of date if a new drawio release is published. This package reflects the releases of the drawio-desktop repository at -desktop/releases. Release there appear less often than for the main repository.

draw.io desktop download

Upstream recommended to go back to an older version until things are fixed in the current releases. But it seems with -desktop/releases/tag/v15.3.8 things should work again. I will prepare a new release here soon.

draw.io is available as an AppImage which means "one app = one file", which you can download and run on your Linux system while you don't need a package manager and nothing gets changed in your system. Awesome!

AppImages are single-file applications that run on most Linux distributions. Download an application, make it executable, and run! No need to install. No system libraries or system preferences are altered. Most AppImages run on recent versions of Arch Linux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and other common desktop distributions.

If you would like to have the executable bit set automatically, and would like to see draw.io and other AppImages integrated into the system (menus, icons, file type associations, etc.), then you may want to check the optional appimaged daemon.

Please consider to add update information to the draw.io AppImage and ship a .zsync file so that it can be updated using AppImageUpdate. Tools like appimagetool and linuxdeployqt can do this for you easily.

draw.io Desktop is designed to be completely isolated from the Internet, apart from the update process. No diagram data is ever sent externally, nor do we send any analytics about app usage externally. This means certain functionality for which we do not have a JavaScript implementation do not work in the Desktop build, namely .vsd and Gliffy import.

drawio-desktop is a diagramming and whiteboarding desktop app based on Electron that wraps the core draw.io editor. It has built in templates for Class Diagrams, Flowcharts, Org Charts, Swimlane Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Kanban Boards, and more.

If you are an organization using Chocolatey, we want your experience to be fully reliable. Due to the nature of this publicly offered repository, reliability cannot be guaranteed. Packages offered here are subject to distribution rights, which means they may need to reach out further to the internet to the official locations to download files at runtime.

The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of draw.io Desktop to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this diagram creation program.

In this post, we will download and install the draw.io desktop tool on Windows operating system. draw.io( now diagrams.net ) is the most widely used free diagramming software. diagrams.net and draw.io is a registered trademark of JGraph Ltd. JGraph Ltd is a company that develops and runs the diagrams.net and draw.io websites.

I recently did download the draw.io git repository from (version 5.6.0.3) and spend quite some time building draw.war (which can be deployed in a web container), without any luck so far. I did read all the draw.io documentation that is provided in the repository and searched the internet for hours to find out how to build draw.war, but I couldn't find an answer.

When I run 'ant war -buildfile /tmp/draw.io-master/etc/build/build.xml -propertyfile /tmp/draw.io-master/etc/build/build.properties -Dbasedir=/tmp/draw.io-master/etc/build -Ddesktop.dir=/tmp' I get the following error:

Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. Freeware products can be used free of charge for both personal and professional (commercial use).

This license is commonly used for video games and it allows users to download and play the game for free. Basically, a product is offered Free to Play (Freemium) and the user can decide if he wants to pay the money (Premium) for additional features, services, virtual or physical goods that expand the functionality of the game. In some cases, ads may be show to the users.

This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.

You can open the same *.drawio file with the Draw.io editor and as xml file. They are synchronized, so you can switch between them as you like it.This is super practical if you want to use find/replace to rename text or other features of VS Code to speed up your diagram creation/edit process.Use the View: Reopen Editor With... command to toggle between the text or the Draw.io editor. You can open multiple editors for the same file. This does not make much sense for SVG files though, as the draw.io diagram is stored in its metadata.

Recently, Dave Ruijter posted a blog about a library containing all the Azure Icons. He shared all icons in his GitHub repository which allows you to directly connect it to the tool Diagrams.net (previously known as draw.io) to draft your Azure architecture.

Important: This extension does not work on readthedocs as RTD does not allowpackages (e.g. drawio) to be installed. If you only require diagrams in a singleformat, you can consider using editable SVGs or PNGs, accessible throughdraw.io's File > Export menu.

This allows for a specific override for the binary location. By default, thischooses the drawio (or draw.io.exe) binary accessible in $PATH. However,if this file does not exist, it picks the platform-appropriate path:

This config option controls the default export file format for each Sphinxbuilder. It accepts a dictionary mapping builder names to image formats. Thebuilder name should match the name of a Sphinx builder(e.g., "html", "latex"). Accepted values for the export format are "png","jpg", "svg" and "pdf". If no format is set for a given builder, itspreferred image format is used, that is, the first format listed in a builder'ssupported_image_types that draw.io is capable of exporting to (eg. SVG forHTML, PDF for LaTeX).

This config option sets the default export scale for all diagrams. This scalesthe size of the diagram. So if you take a diagram that by default would outputa image with a resolution of 50x50 pixels and a scale of 200, you will obtain animage with a resolution that is approximately 100x100 pixels. By default draw.iousually outputs relatively low resolution images, so this setting can be usedto remedy that.

Additionally, drawio-image accepts all of the options supported by theimage directive. These options apply to the image as exported by draw.io. Similarly,drawio-figure accepts all options supported by the figure directive.

This scales the size of the output image. So if you take a diagram that bydefault would output a image with a resolution of 50x50 pixels and a scale of200, you will obtain an image with a resolution that is approximately 100x100pixels. By default draw.io usually outputs relatively low-resolution images,so this setting can be used to remedy that. This overrides thedrawio_default_export_scale set in conf.py for this specific diagram. Ifeither export-width or export-height are set for a given image,export-scale will have no effect on the generated image.
